Lake St. Croix Beach Welcomes You!

Lake St. Croix Beach has a history that began in 1925.  Back then it was a dense lakefront development of over 100 blocks that was laid out by Warren Smadbeck of New York.  The plan included a beachfront clubhouse, a long dock extending into the river, streets with names such as Riviera, Ramada, Racine, and a wide boulevard along Neal Avenue.  Lots were sold and promoted by the St. Paul Daily News.  A variety of modest cottages were built on the small lots, a number of which are still standing.  Lake St. Croix Beach was incorporated in 1951. Speed limit is 20 MPH on all city streets.
